Hello Everyone!

About Me

I came to the Midwest five years ago with the intention of buying an old house to restore. I was bit by the reno-bug many years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed working on many old houses - both mine and those belonging to others. I closed down my general contracting business in 2007 to work exclusively on my own old house. It's been frustrating, a true test of my tenacity and patience, but worth every tear, every drop of blood, and every sweaty moment! :)

My sanctuary/master bath, In renovating my old 1902 Queen Anne, I decided to transform one very small bedroom and one 8x6 wheelchair accessible shower & large bathroom, into a guest bath off the living room, and my master bathroom.
Finishes that I've worked with before and absolutely love are slate and copper. It was a challenge to find inspiration photos online that represented the look I was going for. Ultimately a box of 60 crayons and computerized photos of the space enabled me to visualize how different finishes & paint colors would look, incorporating slate and copper fixtures. All in all, I love love love the results, though I'm still touching up and working at the punch list of tasks to have it 100 per cent complete. I'm still a few months from moving into the house, but I never miss an opportunity to shower in my fabulous slate shower, after a long hard day working elsewhere in the house :) , Bathrooms Design
