I am older and just bought an old new house. This house was built in the 20's and lo n behold it has excellent hard wood floors. We are going to refinish them and put new drywalls as paneling was on these walls and the wall board was very old and crumbling. Thats why we have to replace the drywall in every room. The kitchen we are going to put tile in and use any flooring we might have to replace. This job is taking longer than expected due to plumbing and having to replace it. We are living on a modest income and have to do things as we can afford to. We are starting with sanding the floors and finishing them, replacing all the wall boards, then we will look at taking out some walls completely increasing the size of the room. Sounds like a lot, it is and I hope we survive this do-over.
