Hi, my name is Patty and I bought what I thought would be a transistional home for myself and my 3 young children 23 years ago. But, fate stepped in and I was diagnosed with Leukemia in 1994 so I feel very blessed to even have my very own home. As soon as I moved in I immediately carpeted over beautiful hardwood floors. ( I had a 9 month old that was testing her limits in her new walker and I was too nervous that she could gain a bit too much speed on hardwood, so I choose carpet as my buffer. This was my 8th home but at the time it was Christmas time, I worked 2 jobs, and at that time wallpaper was my thing so I had every room wallpapered, The problem: I never owned a home with drywall, so they hung the paper without sizing,YECH!!!! Now, I am sooooo very tired of wallpaper I could scream, though in the early 90's it looked nice not to mention the emerald green carpet that match that to me now resembles a putting green. There was a free standing fireplace that I had removed last year and gave away. My phone rang for 3 days. Problem: Where it was there is heavy tile on the floor 4' X 4', and the same on the wall that was directly behind where the fireplace was.I have no idea what is behind and under it. How do I find out without causing damage? I would really like a calm, soothing room in which to relax after chemotherapy, no prints on the walls. I love the beach, so I have been thinking about using that as a decor, not any type of wallpaper, my days with wallpaper are OVER!!!!! My children are all in their early 20's pursuing their education, so now it's just me and my little King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, MaggieMae. Life if Good. But, I have nost certainly fell out of love
