I am a new homeowner of a great home but it also needs some loving care and much yard work. I sometimes think that maybe I shouldn't have taken on such a big yard front and back that have so much trees and unkept island that need so much tending to, but the house inside was to die for and the views, almost ceiling to floor windows back of the house! I love to do simple do it yourself projects just not very good at actually doing them, due to begin scared of how they'll turn out.
One down fall of the back yard, other then it also needs some great landscaping the back faces the neighborhood clubhouse and pool, so mainly 3 months of the year it's used. There are so many trees that there was lots of privacy, however, I had to have the trees trimmed and many cut down due to so much going on, now there are some peep holes thru the trees and you can clearing see thru to our home, so now I have to put up some sheers to filter out the view from the pool. The rest of the year the clubhouse is rented out for use, but not too much and never a problem. I either have to replace a higher fence, or getting some ideas on this website.
I forgot to add, that my family of four two teens, my husband and myself live here, but my teens are now in college, rarely like to help out but help out some, and my husband is unable to do so as he has a form of dementia, but very mobile and loves to go outside and use to say "backyard is good", doesn't say it anymore, mainly cause south Tx, we have droughts and we are restricted from watering too much so that maybe another reason to do less grass and more paved area, or stone walkways, etc that kind of landscaping.
